Selective Licensing

Selective Licensing requires landlords of any privately rented properties (houses and flats) in the designated area to apply to the Council for a licence and pay an annual fee per scheme period.

Parts of the West Midlands are designated some as selective licensing areas, under Section 80 of the Housing Act 2004. Landlords and Letting Agents were asked to read proposals and provide their views by completing questionnaires in November 2016.
