Gemma Barnsley

I first started my career in the Property industry 15 years ago, I started as a maintenance consultant and from here my passion grew, progressing on to a Lettings Negotiator and finally a Manager. I then 6 years ago made the decision to plan and start my own agency, having huge ideas of how an agency can offer better quality of service for both landlords and tenants, ideas of how we can progress with this ever changing industry… and so GLB was born, and I have never looked back. We have come so far since the day GLB began, it’s been a lot of hard work, a lot of long days/nights but it is all worth it, as I know we are building and continuously growing a company to be proud of. We were originally solely offering a Lettings service, but by popular demand we decided to expand to include sales too, focusing on all the values of a traditional agency but with the style of a modern online agency too including that all important presence of a great team! My life is pretty much solely all about GLB, but when I do get some time out your generally find me walking the coast somewhere with my little four legged companion.

I was drawn to the world of estate agency and property management at 18 and decided to dive right in. Embarking on my professional journey, I undertook a level 2 apprenticeship in lettings and sales negotiation. This foundational experience instilled in me a thorough understanding of the industry's dynamics, laying the groundwork for my flourishing career in lettings and rental properties.

In my role as a Lettings and Sales Negotiator at GLB Property Services, I’ve embraced the fast-paced, time-sensitive nature of the work, leveraging my skills of efficiency, precision, and clear communication to facilitate seamless transactions. My core strength lies in my ability to foster relationships; I try and understand the unique needs of each client and tailor my approach accordingly. In the intricate dance between buyers, tenants, owners and landlords, I’ve mastered the art of keeping all parties in sync and satisfied, reducing stress and ensuring success in the lettings process.

What truly motivates me in this role is the opportunity to guide individuals and families through one of their most significant life decisions – choosing a home. I am passionately committed to providing the best service to our clients, ensuring they feel supported, informed, and confident throughout their property journey. My deep understanding of the local sales and rental market, combined with my commitment to meeting clients' individual needs, allows me to serve as a reliable guide in the often complex process of property letting.

To take a peek into my personality, if you were given the chance to have dinner with any person, past or present, who would you choose?

My choice would undoubtedly be Emmeline Pankhurst. A key figure in the suffragette movement, Pankhurst's determination and unyielding spirit have always been a source of inspiration to me. I'd relish the opportunity to discuss her original inspiration for starting her ground-breaking movement and reflect upon the long-lasting impact she's made on our modern world.

Hannah Billings

After beginning my career in property management in 2006, I have enjoyed letting, inspecting and managing maintenance, repairs & compliance to both residential, student accommodation & HMO's for over 18 years. I am particularly proud of having built a career in the property industry and only now as I reflect on nearly 20 years in this vocation, do I realise how much I have learned.. with still so much to take on board with ever changing legislation. One of the aspects I enjoy most is taking pride in presenting all properties to the highest standard, it's also most satisfying to watch a transformation take place when any properties need a little extra TLC! With lots of areas falling under the umbrella of maintenance - I hope that Landlords would agree that I can offer advice and guidance on the more complex areas of renting.

Growing up in the 90's and noughties, I watched a lot of property renovation programmes and always enjoyed a 'before and 'after' which is course a huge part of maintenance - this then led into various areas of lettings that were a natural interest, however, I especially enjoy establishing long standing relationships with both Landlords and Tenants with a familiarity that is not always encouraged in other sectors.

During my spare time, I love to visit friends that live far and wide, as well as spend time with our beloved family Spaniel, Bella Billings.

Jodie Everton

My estate agency journey began as an apprentice at a local letting agency, here I gained experience in many different aspects of the lettings industry including referencing new tenants, handling property maintenance, and helping with accounts. This helped me understand different roles and guided my decision to focus on property maintenance. My first year working there, I stepped out of my comfort zone, embraced lots of new opportunities which really helped my confidence and self-esteem grow, I would say this is my most rewarding achievement.

I enjoy visiting properties for inspections, I visit a variation of different properties, so it builds my knowledge day by day and gives me the opportunity to build relationships with tenants. My strengths, including attention to detail and good communication contribute to tenant’s experience with us by ensuring each home is always at its best potential, also addressing any concerns promptly makes sure they always have a comfortable environment.

My inspiration to pursue a career in lettings stems from witnessing my dad renovating and conducting work on different properties, I visited lots of houses with him and it really made me see the potential properties. This also shown me how people start to build great connections as houses turn into homes. A good team around me keeps me motivated. Everyone is always happy to share knowledge and support, whether we are celebrating achievements or being there for each other during hard times, everyone’s efforts help keep the energy high.

Taking a walk with my dog after helps me unwind after a busy day. The change in environment and fresh air is a natural reset for me. It helps clear my mind and disconnect from work for the rest of the evening, so I feel fresh for the next day to come.
